Development 2013-2016
2013 to 2016 the entire Värtahamnen port was rebuilt. The result is a more efficient port area that has extended further out into the bay.
The City of Stockholm has gained 85,000 square meters for urban development and in return Ports of Stockholm has gained a new port with five quay-berths, smart, green solutions and a modern passenger terminal that is open to all – a port for Stockholm today and tomorrow.
The reconstruction of the Värtahamnen port was part of the large urban development project, the Stockholm Royal Seaport that stretches from Hjorthagen in the north to Loudden in the south.
