Stockholm's archipelago on National Geographic's top list
National Geographic has named Stockholm's archipelago one of the world's top 25 travel destinations for 2025! The archipelago, with its thousands of islands, lives all year round thanks to the regular archipelago traffic. But it also attracts more and more visitors from all over the world.
National Geographic's list of the world's top 25 travel destinations is produced in close consultation with travel experts and international editors. The list contains a mix of both surprising upcoming destinations and timeless places that have something new and exciting to offer – everything from a new climbing paradise in India to island hopping in Stockholm.
Ports of Stockholm is one of the world's largest passenger ports with six million ferry passengers, half a million cruise passengers and six million passengers who travel by public transport and archipelago traffic every year. For ferry and cruise passengers, the archipelago is an exciting reason for travel that you experience when you set sail for Stockholm.
Ports of Stockholm also contribute to a vivid archipelago by enabling public transport and archipelago traffic from central Stockholm to the archipelago.
