Stockholm is ready for winter

Sea Carrier at Frihamnen Port

On 10 October, the vessel Sea Carrier arrived at Stockholm directly from Tunisia with 6,300 tonnes of road salt. It will be used to keep streets and pavements safe, and to secure the infrastructure in the Stockholm region.

The vessel Sea Carrier went straight to Stockholm Frihamnen Port from Zarzis in Tunisia. By using central ports like Frihamnen, customers have another shipping option to and from the Stockholm region, which is by far Sweden's largest consumption area.

The central inner-city quays are an important complement to the major freight ports Stockholm Norvik Port, Port of Nynäshamn and Port of Kapellskär.

Transporting goods by sea directly to the final destination brings major benefits - it relieves both road networks and reduces environmental impact. It is also more cost-effective.
